Product Description

VapeKing is proud to bring the Vape Safe Fuse downunder! This nifty little Safety Device is a must have for all Vapers who use Mod Batteries. Designed in the US by ePipeMods, CherryVape & Artisan Vaping, and distributed by VapeKing here in Australia.

The Vape Safe is a safety device that adds an in-line fuse for any circular battery with a diameter of 16mm or more. The Vape Safe attaches magnetically on the negative terminal of the battery and trips when the current drawn out of (or in to) the battery exceeds a certain amount.

The VapeSafe is a mechanical fuse that trips if it senses a short in the mod by shutting down the battery.

The VapeSafe can also help protect Variable Voltage circuitry, hot springs and other circuitry inside your mod that can be damaged in the event of a "hard short".

A "hard short" is the single leading cause of a Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) needing to vent.

Does the Vape Safe make a Mod absolutely 100% safe?
The answer is a firm NO.

No Mod in Vaping world will ever be 100% safe and there is still risk that the battery may fail thermally.
When properly used, the Vape Safe can help to prevent potential thermal reaction for occuring but that does still not mean your mod will be 100% Safe.

In most situations the Vape Safe will stop a Hard Short and when used with mods that already have levels of protection installed, you will be adding to the overall safety of the device you are using.

Installation Instructions:

To use the Vape Safe, simply attach the end of the PCB with the magnet to the negative terminal (the flat end without the button connector) of the battery and install the whole assembly in your Mod.

Extra Info:

The Vape Safe contains a fast-blowing 7A fuse. While 7A may seem like a very high current rating to protect a battery, the fuse in the Vape Safe is extremely fast acting and will respond to short current transients. This means that if the current rating of the fuse were lower (say, at 4A) then the fuse in the Vape Safe would trip too easily. We found that after much experimentation, the 7A limit was in the "Goldilocks Zone" of being low enough to protect the battery against a hard short while at the same time avoiding un-necessary trips.
